is a celebration
of my Jamaican
It’s an alta Costura version of my recollection of the women I grew up seeing in Jamaica. It’s everyone from the church girls to the queens of the dance hall. It’s an aspirational point of view of how women used clothes to escape reality. Sunday’s were prime time to unleash your inner Alexis Carrington and go to a church service, Weddings presented the opportunity to look like a rich woman and parties were ultimately where you lived out your show girl fantasies. It has stuck with me and provided a consistent theme of glamour and drama in my work. A heart felt thank you Waltham park road, you are my one true inspiration.
